Guild Night

I love Guild Night. First I get to go out to supper with my best friend and chat over coffee, then we get to go to Quilt Guild meeting and get immersed in quilting for an entire evening.

I love Show & Tell, and all the programs we have. I posted last month about the series program we’re having. You can catch up on that by clicking here: August Guild Meeting.

RMAQSThis month, during Show & Tell, my best friend, Rose Marie, got to stand up and show her quilt that will be in the AQS Show in Des Moines in October! YES!!! She has a quilt in the show! I’m excited to go see it hanging there. Her quilt is a Flavin Glover pattern called “Keep the Home Fires Burning”. Rose Marie’s version is a bit brighter, and very wonderful and interesting to look at. If you go to the Des Moines AQS Show, be sure to look for it there.

Our series program continued with 3 more individual presentations on various basics. This time we had Susan demonstrating one method of choosing colors for your quilt . . .

Marsha showed us proper pressing techniques . . .

And Alice, our resident Paper-Piecing Queen, did a full-blown presentation on paper-foundation piecing. She makes it look easy and sound fun! That’s Kathy asleep in the background (not really, but I have to give her a hard time) and Marilyn looking on from the left.

I’m looking forward to more presentations next month.
