Goin’ For a Ride

Turn your back for a second, and there’s a cat getting into something around our place. This time it was Lilly, wanting her turn at going horseback riding. Good thing Bette is a tolerant soul!

First, she tries several different positions on for comfort. “Should I lay this way . . . or would it be better like this?”

“Hmmm . . . how do I make it go?”

“Ooooh . . . this is so soft and comfy, I think I’ll go like this . . . ”

“What are you looking at? Are we going or not?”

Lilly Riding

These pictures were from a while back. Bette was pregnant at the time, and her back cinch was a bit snug. She had a perfectly healthy and rambunctious colt, and she is now retired, and spends her days like this:

Goin' for a Ride

She’s a great horse, and she deserves to get to do whatever she wants, now that she’s almost 25 years old!

  1. What cute pictures. I cannot imagine a cat wanting to snuggle up with a horse 🙂

  2. Lovely pictures. Thanks.

  3. That’s cute!
    May happy years Bette.

  4. I love the picture with the cat just laying on the horse. Isn’t that just like them? Wow 25 years. How long do horses usually live? Thanks for sharing!

    • They average in the 20s, but can live into their 30s. My uncle had a horse that just died at 38 years old! Of course, I’m hoping Bette just lives forever!
