Kay the Quilter

Remember my friend, Kay, I’m always talking about?

She’s a member of the guild I belong to.

Kay and I are the ones who organized the Patriotic Challenge. The one that neither one of us got our quilts done for. Yeah, that one . . . and then she goes and wins first prize with the entry she showed after all!I’m always posting here after guild meetings and showing stuff she’s brought for show & tell. Like this one, for instance:

Or this one:

Kay quilts a LOT! And she likes to embroider, too, and she’s hella good at it. And . . . she’s also known as the Blanket Stitch Queen among our group.

I was especially proud of her when one of her quilts that she let me machine quilt for her won first prize in our show:

And now she’s in the news again! She attended an annual retreat with a group of her quilting friends from the Kansas City area last weekend. Deb Rowden has written a post about a quilt that Kay showed there. You can read about her here: Aunt Irese’s Basement.

Today, Kay is off on some other quilting adventure, and I’ll be seeing her Wednesday at our guild meeting. The woman never quits! Which is a good thing . . .
